Ubuntu - New LTS version is a'coming
Been "driving" Ubuntu now for about two weeks, and I'm just loving it. I did set up a dualboot as I am but a noob. I need to have the MS installation intact for just a little while longer so that I can transfer files from it onto the Ubuntu partition.
But it seems as if I'm going to be a ubuntu'ist for all future now, atleast comparing to MS - There is just no going back, plain and simple. Might not stick to Ubuntu, that's not a lifetime commitment, but as I have started with Ubuntu chances are I will hold on to that.
Things that are totally different and "scares" me the most is the filesystem, not really what i'm used to, hehe... Terminal, nah, not scary, just hard to comprehend in the beginning, but I'm beginning to sence logic in there somewhere.
When next LTS version is released... I think I'm going all Linux. No more money to Mr Gates & CO, he's got enough if you ask me.
Free is GOOD, Linux is great, Linus should be king of Finland.
Cerulean Crayons
Take a minute and enjoy Cerulean Crayons.
August Thomé, musician and webdesigner from Stockholm, Sweden have released this one man project of lo-fi guitar-pop music. There are ten songs with different instrumental themes based on various experiments, often made to let the guitar act like a keyboard in order to create syntethic sound from an organic instrument.
If you like it, you can donwload the songs here.
If you can't see a flash music player here, you need the correct version of Flashplayer. This is available here.
There's two types of errors which might make the file "unhearable". Javascript must be enabled in your web browser. And you need the latest version of Flashplayer which is available here.
Old Lost John
Now, I'm not pretending in anyway to be a music critic, but I have opinions, and them I'm entitled to express.
I'm a music fan, no question about it. I don't say I know a lot, but I like music. Normally I tend to listen to old school hard rock like Black Sabbath, Rainbow, and things from may back when, sort of a nostalgy trip. But once in a while I come across newer music. Mostly because of my children and their never ending search for "cool" music.
This time I did, much to my surprice, follow a link suggested to me on Facebook. Normally I just delete FB links, suggestions, app's and other crap, but this time it was a link to an old best friends site, Old Lost John. So I thought to myself, remembering last time I visited the site some year ago, I'd go have a looksie... 'cause I really liked it back then.
As this article isn't about website's, but music, I will concentrate on that. Tomas Thunberg aka Old Lost John have evolved to something really good. I'm not saying it was bad before, only that I really like it now. Tomas voice is what strikes me as the most... "speaking", in lack of better words. It touches the insides. Rough and smooth, longing, tender at the same time.
If you like soft unplugged like guitar music with a folk'y feeling, please visit Old Lost John's website and listen to what is posted there. You will not be disappointed.
