I was dumb enough to think I could have the comments function set to just show comments upon submission... Alas, there are just too many dumbfucks out there wanting to SPAM for this to be possible.

Therefor I have set the comments for approval before they show up, which some days may result in that the comment you posted is not visible for some time. I need to log on an approve comment before you can see it. I do apologize for this, but I do NOT need to come online and see 42 SPAM posts on the site.

Please keep comments coming, I assure you that only if they're not obvious SPAM, they will be approved.

I hear you man, I just cranked it out, it was so easy, I'm kicking myself for not doing it earlier!

Just create a captchas folder in the same directory as your snews.php file and then swap the original mathCaptcha function with mine and you're good.

It's on my site, check out it when you get the free time.

Cool, hang tight, I'm making the image/match captcha much more user/server resource friendly, to come later today hopefully.

It most certainly sounds worth while. It would mean that I wouldn't have to approve all comments, but the one's containing crap, or atleast possible crap ;).

Will install your image/math hybrid, then so that I don't get that much spam. In a way I could take it the positive way... I have visitors, eh ;)

Bummer man, comment spam is a f**king pisser.

Knock on wood, but I've had no spam on my main site since I've instituted my image/math hybrid captcha mod. I still get them on my theme demo sites, but I like that, because I can see what the spammers are posting to figure out out to fight them.

I have just recently gotten another idea in my head to help with spam possibly, I plan to implement some testing within the comments function, and if the comment contains a bunch of BB Code links and shit, then it'll send it to moderation, etc.

Sound worth while?

What CMS should I use ?

There is a lot of discussions about what CMS is the best, and everybody have their own say on the matter. I say, it all depends on your needs.

I am speaking highly, and using both on my own site and the one's I make, of sNews CMS. sNews is a completely free, standards compliant, PHP and MySQL driven Content Management System. sNews is extremely lightweight, simple and customizable. It's easy to install, and easy to use via a simple web interface. sNews consists of only one core engine file, one independent template file and its accompanying CSS stylesheet file, plus an .htaccess file that makes all URLs search engine friendly.

If you have any doubts about wht CMS to choose, please try sNews CMS
