New sNews enhancements
I'm getting to be a bigger and bigger fan of Matt over att mdj.us by the minute. This time around he have made, in my book, improvements that should be default somehow to snews.
From this day forward they will be in my versions. What changes are they then. Well, this time around we're talking about comments form and additions to it to make it better.
For one thing, the sNews captcha i s imporved upon by this modification, which in simple words add an image instead of the math captchas generated numeric numbers. In short: "spam bots will first have to decode the image to be able to do the math" thus making it much harder for spam bots to acutally post spam. A real treat that one is.
Next modification is more of a pleasant and practical thing. Comment preview is a cool and nice addition to the comments form, liking it so much I had to modificate my version with it aswell.
And then we have the Gravatar modification. This baby simply adds your own customized picture alongside with your comment (as long as you first have registered and uploaded pic's at en.gravatar.com). This is by no means anything you really need at your site, but it is certainly a pleasant addition to be able to both be seen, and to see whom have posted.

Pretty clueless about what's going on there and I'm glad you shared with the rest of us about new developments, especially in this form. Now you need to do it more often ;) - pretty please...
No really, weekly or even bi-weekly updates on new sNews developments (new mods, improvements in the existing ones...) would be pretty cool, but don't feel pressured or anything, it's just an idea I'm throwing here, I'd do it if I had the needed ingredient... time :)
BTW, as I scrolled down to submit this comment, only now I see what you mean by comment preview. Nice one too!
Well, thanks Matt. Although somethings not correct. I had to copy/paste your comment and info to make it visible. What happened when I went to approve your comment was... nada. I can't get the DB to take it. When I'M logged in though, I can make comments "stick"... Needs some thinking on, this one...
Thanks for the kudos Patric! Nice to see the mods up running, especially the gravatar mod, that one is probably one of the more difficult to put together.
