sNews enhanced with FCKeditor
Mhm, like it I say. This will be a great addition for anyone whom is interested in sNews, but not so very familiar with code of any kind. What's been done is that I have modded sNews core file to contain an texteditor which applies a word like menu.
This was originally made by MOSH on sNews forum. Big thanks to Mosh. This is implemented on my own site, and on the engine I provide for others.
What this is, for you who might not know what an texteditor is, I will try and explain in short:
Imagen you have a texfield in which you're supposed to put text. You also need to add some HTML tags to this as it will not show up as intended otherwise on your homepage. You do 
not know HTML code, which leads to a minor dilemma. However with this FCKeditor you will be able to use the article form as anyother text editor you have on your computer, for instance word. Once in the article form you will see a word like menu system just above the textarea which may assist you in typing and editing the article(image -->).

Hehe, well in that case I'm semi-old fashioned myself. I prefer the one without editor as I use the default one, but code it manually ;)
But as you say, and I did mention, the editor is a huge advantedge to the default one, as often enough one have to make a "dummy-tutorial" for them just above the textarea, so that they can read and copy, sort of... The editor is something most users are familiar with from word etc...
I'm old fashioned, I write everything in a plain old text file, then slurp it into my article :P
You're right though, for non-technical users, often times having a good WYSIWYG editor is a must, you can't expect people to know straight off know to code HTML.
I only have one regret regarding this awsome thing. And that is when using [break] it chops up a tad...

The default "editor" in sNews is practically useless for an HTML novice to put together anything but a basic text article.
